Honeywell Branding & Name Changes
![]()
I know most of you are confused by all the changes with “HONEYWELL” branding and products. So hopefully this will provide some explanation:
2019 Honeywell spun off the security and HVAC side of things and created Resideo. Vista panels went under the Resideo name. HVAC stuff stayed with Honeywell Home name… which I think were some of this confusion comes from. What stayed Honeywell was the fire panels. The ProSeries panels were branded Honeywell home until someone complained over the name in a commercial space. Now everything security wise is going to be branded First Alert. The ProSeries PN’s have all changed to -FA except for the secondary keypad, that PN is still in the process of being released. Going forward the Vista H series and ProSeries will all be under the First Alert brand. Vista 20-128-250 and so on will stay the Resideo brand as these will be referred to sooner than later as Legacy vista panels.
Break down: Honewell = Fire panels, Resideo = Security panels and First Alert is just a name for the ProSeries line up. By end of next year, you will have the Vista Hx and the Pro7a and Pro7aPlus under the First Alert name and that would be the products to use going forward. The new cameras are branded First Alert as well.
Hope this helps clarify some of the Branding with the Honeywell products we are all used to. Still all great products.
